Barcelona welcomes TwinERGY for the 2nd PAN European Workshop and the final wrap-up event

The 13th of March TwinERGY hosts its 2nd and final PAN European Workshop in Barcelona (and online)  on “Innovation opportunities around the energy market”. This will mark the first of the two-days Final Event of the project that will present its results, learnings and citizen experiences when applying the technological and social aspects of TwinERGY.

Here’s the agenda uncovered:

  • The 13th of March at 3 pm is the starting point of the hybrid PAN EU Workshop. The session will be online broadcasted, so that all knowledge shared and presentations will be available and open for everyone during and after the event. The open session will start with a welcome introduction from Michael Donaldson, Commissioner for Digital Innovation, e-Government and Good Governance of Barcelona City Council, followed by a brief overview of the TwinERGY project conducted by Stylianos Karatzas, Project Manager, and Anna Higueras, Head of Projects at Ideas for Change.

  • After these welcome remarks, a short panel discussion on energy market trends and tech innovation will take place. This debate will count with popular voices from the energy sector as: Fiona Zimmermann, from the Energy Living Lab Association, Marc Montlleó, from Barcelona Regional and Carolyn Hassan, Director at Knowle West Media Centre. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with them after their presentations and discussions in order to enhance an inspiring reflection.

  • Hereafter, the four pilot coordinators from Steinheim (Germany), Benetutti (Italy), Athens (Greece) and Bristol (United Kingdom) will present their final results, learnings and good practices about each pilot site. Moreover, the four Energy Future videos about participants’ experiences and citizen engagement outlines directed by IFC will be showcased as part of the session.

  • The final panel of the workshop will be focused on the technological and social aspects of the project. John Gialelis (University of Patras) and Giulia Barbano (IES) will share their views on the Digital Twin perspective, Patrick Tully (University of Bristol), Kostas Vasilakis and Themis Apostologlou (European Dynamics) will identify market needs and Elena Leal (ETRA), Alexandros Tsitsanis (Suite 5) and Athanasios Chassiakos (University of Patras) will discuss about the system developed in the project.

  • Finally, Stylianos Karatzas and Anna Higueras will do the closing remarks and will highlight the new European requirements regarding the energy sector.

With the aim of exposing the final learnings and results when applying the technological and social developments of the project, collecting good practices and identifying existing gaps, the event will be centred on citizen innovation in the energy market.
