A new digital framework to improve the energy market

TwinERGY incorporates Digital Twin intelligence for optimising demand response for residential buildings while having a positive impact on the well-being of consumers and on their ordinary activities. 

The Digital Twin technology consists in creating a digital copy of a physical asset, process or system. Connecting a physical asset with its Digital Twin enables testing new ideas or model scenarios in real time without interrupting the physical asset operations and users’ practices. 

A better energy market is possible if all the implicated agents work closely.

  • Consumer Digital Twin: It predicts citizens’ consumption patterns and comfort preferences to develop a personalised strategy that allows them to achieve a more sustainable and affordable energy management.

  • Building Digital Twin: Customised feedback for home energy management aiming to preserve human comfort and optimise energy usage.

  • Community Digital Twin: Created to analyse the impact on the grid and the well-being of the individual members within the community.

Transactive Energy Platform

By developing a decentralised platform, TwinERGY connects micro-grid operators with energy companies and consumers allowing them to actively participate in the market enabling buying and selling power directly between generators and end-users. These transactions take place over trading platforms based on the blockchain technology which helps to decentralise the grid operation and achieve a greater matching of demand and generation.

 

Data Management Platform

An interoperable ecosystem constitutes the backbone of the project’s replicability and scalability potential. At its heart lies the Core Data Management Platform where all datasets are processed guaranteeing data privacy, integrity and transparency.

 

Social Network Platform

A co-created social network platform helps consumers comprehend their energy management while enhancing engagement and end-users awareness is already available. This mobile based application includes playful challenges, a comprehensive and easy-to-use dashboard and a digital wallet for eco-positive goods to foster improving consumer’s energy behaviour.
